On 16 May in London, the prestigious Royal Windsor Horse Show welcomed distinguished guests from around the world this year, including the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, whose presence added a special dimension to the event.

During his visit, Mr Berdimuhamedov met His Majesty King Charles III and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, underscoring the importance of cultural and diplomatic ties between the UK and Turkmenistan.

National Leader also visited the Turkmenistan stand, where he engaged with attendees and observed the strong interest generated by the country’s national display. The exhibition provided an opportunity to showcase Turkmenistan’s enduring traditions and deep-rooted connection to horse breeding, particularly the revered Akhal-Teke breed, regarded as a national treasure.

The UK Ambassador to Turkmenistan, Stephen Conlon, giving an interview for television.

In discussions with His Majesty’s Ambassador, Mr Stephen Conlon, Mr Berdimuhamedov emphasised the significance of the Royal Windsor Horse Show as a global platform for equestrian excellence. He also expressed a keen interest in seeing Akhal-Teke horses participate in future editions of the event, including next year’s show.

The Royal Windsor Horse Show continues to serve as an important venue for cultural exchange, bringing together nations through a shared appreciation of equestrian sport, heritage, and tradition.
