President Donald Trump’s grandchildren were not allowed to be driven by Tiger Woods even before the golf pro’s DUI arrest last week, according to a report.

Members of the Trump family are “far from pleased” at the prospect of the grandchildren being in the car with “someone with Woods’ issues” after he crashed his Land Rover on Florida’s Jupiter Island Friday afternoon, according to The New York Post, citing a family insider.

Woods is in a relationship with Vanessa Trump, who shares five children with her ex-husband, Donald Trump Jr, including 18-year-old golfer Kai Trump.

Neither Vanessa nor any of Trump’s grandchildren were in the vehicle at the time of the crash, and Woods was released on bail.

U.S. Secret Service agents are “certainly not letting Tiger Woods – even without the DUI” drive the kids, a source told the Post, and added that there would be “concern” had the grandchildren not gotten round-the-clock security.

Friday’s incident is the latest in a string of high-profile crashes involving the star, and his second DUI arrest. In 2017, he was found passed out at the wheel and arrested for driving under the influence in Florida. He later pleaded guilty to reckless driving but avoided jailtime. In 2021, he was seriously injured in a crash after driving at least twice the 45mph speed limit in California, police said.

The Secret Service said it was unable to comment on protective operations when contacted by The Independent comment.

The Independent has contacted the White House for further information.

Vanessa Trump filed for a divorce from Don. Jr in 2018 after 12 years of marriage. She has been dating Woods for more than a year.

Trump said he “feels so badly” for the 50-year-old golf legend, whom he called a “close friend” when he spoke to reporters Friday.

“He’s got some difficulty,” Trump said, speaking before the Martin County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Woods’ arrest. “There was an accident and that’s all I know. He’s a very close friend of mine, he’s an amazing person, an amazing man. Some difficulty, I don’t want to talk about it.”

His last official tournament was The Open in 2024, rupturing his Achilles tendon in March 2025 which kept him off the course all season prior to back surgery.

While Woods has lifetime eligibility to play at The Masters, as a previous five-time winner of the green jacket, Trump had previously suggested a decision had already been made before his latest crash. The Masters are set to take place next week.

“I love Tiger, but he won’t be there,” Trump said while appearing on The Five on Fox News. “He’ll be there, but he won’t be playing in it.”
