Trump ‘bro-cast’ loyalist dramatically turns on president over feud with Musk that’s an ’embarrassment to America’

Jake Paul has told Donald Trump and Elon Musk that their explosive feud is embarrassing America, after Musk said that the president is ‘in the Epstein files’.

The SpaceX CEO, 53, tore into Trump on his X platform Thursday, torching their friendship by saying Trump should be impeached and that his tariff policy will send the United States into recession.

Paul, who endorsed Trump, 78, in an 18-minute video before the election last year, posted on X: ‘One of the problems with the Republican Party is on display today.

‘(As a current Republican) We unfortunately have these Alpha male egos and leaders who aren’t mature enough sometimes. They’re 50+ years old and diss tweeting each other.

‘Elon and Trump are great but they need to work together and not make America look bad.’

While Paul backed Trump last year, he couldn’t vote for him because he rescinded his right to take part in the election when he moved to Puerto Rico.

Jake Paul, a longtime Donald Trump supporter, is unimpressed by his angry Elon Musk feud

But he told his 20 million followers at the time that God saved Trump from last July’s assasination attempt and that he would save America from entering more wars.

‘Most of your favorite celebrities, athletes, all of that are secretly conservative because the left has created a world where conservatives like me speaking out have major, major consequences,’ Paul said at the time.

‘Look at the facts. Think for yourself. Don’t be a sheep in this world full of sheep.’

Trump surged to victory last November with huge support from the young male ‘bro-cast’ community where Jake Paul is somewhat of a figurehead. So too is Joe Rogan – Trump’s appearance on his podcast was considered a groundbreaking moment in the campaign.

How Rogan, who is close to Musk, responds to the feud could have significant consequences for Trump. One of Trump’s first public appearances after November’s win was to appear at UFC 309 at Madison Square Garden with Musk – where he gave Rogan a huge hug in celebration over his sweeping victory.

Other Republican supporters in the sporting world have been left shocked by Musk turning on Trump in such a sensational manner.

‘I like both Trump and Elon. But the two of them ending up in a public fight was the most predictable outcome possible. I’m just glad they worked together so well in 2024, which I truly believe was the most important election in our lifetimes,’ OutKick founder Clay Travis wrote on X.

‘Elon voted for Hillary in 2016 & Biden in 2020. I hope he will stay involved given his platform & financial resources in 2028 & beyond, but he didn’t publicly support Trump until July 13th 2024. As for Trump, his second term so far has been the most awesome of my life. Love it.’

Trump and Musk's controversial friendship imploded spectacularly on Thursday

Trump and Musk’s controversial friendship imploded spectacularly on Thursday

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, who was very open about his support for Trump last November, simply joked: ‘Trump is gonna make Elon fight Zuckerberg in the Octagon at this pace.’

Trump has threatened to cancel all of Musk’s government contracts, saying he had pushed the billionaire DOGE leader out and in turn the SpaceX CEO had gone ‘CRAZY!’

One of Trump’s oldest advisers, Steve Bannon, went even further and suggested the South African-born Musk should be deported.

The spectacular fallout between Trump and Musk – who were political allies for a little less than a year – started in recent weeks when the billionaire started resisting Republicans’ ‘big, beautiful bill,’ arguing that the spending wiped out DOGE’s cost-cutting efforts.

Then, on Thursday, when Trump was supposed to be hosting the new German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in the Oval Office he was asked about Musk’s recent criticism.

‘Elon and I had a great relationship. I don’t know if we will any more, I was surprised,’ Trump told reporters.

The president suggested that Musk was angry – not over the bill ballooning the deficit – but because the Trump administration has pulled back on electric vehicle mandates, which negatively impacted Tesla, and replaced the Musk-approved nominee to lead NASA, which could hinder SpaceX’s government contracts.
