Trent Alexander-Arnold has ended uncertainty over his future by confirming he will leave Liverpool this summer, with the expectation he will join Real Madrid.
The 26-year-old, Liverpool’s vice-captain, is expected to sign a long-term deal with the Spanish giants.
Mail Sport reported a lifestyle change is one of Alexander-Arnold’s primary reasons for moving to Madrid, but the main one is his desire to embark on a new professional challenge.
Mail Sport understands Alexander-Arnold is yet to officially sign a contract, but will do shortly. Alexander-Arnold would have the benefit of joining his friend and fellow England international Jude Bellingham in the Spanish capital.
The presence of Bellingham could help to ease the transition for Alexander-Arnold, having been born and raised in Liverpool before going on to star for the Premier League giants.
Ahead of his expected move, Mail Sport takes a look at how Alexander-Arnold’s new life could look in Madrid.

Where could Alexander-Arnold live?
Should he sign on the dotted line, Alexander-Arnold’s first port of call would be deciding where he lives in the Spanish capital.
If he turns to Bellingham for advice, Alexander-Arnold could find himself living in what has been dubbed as the ‘Beverly Hills’ of Madrid.
Bellingham has been staying in a £5.5m property in the gated VIP bunker neighbourhood of La Finca – The Ranch – since signing for Los Blancos in June 2023.
The gated VIP neighbourhood is located a 15-minute drive north west of the city centre in the upper-class suburb of Pozuelo de Alarcon where the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo still owns a mansion.
Bellingham is understood to have been renting there and sharing with his mum who aids him in the handling of his schedule and other affairs.
The England midfielder’s home reportedly has six-bedrooms, a home theatre, as well as a sauna, gym and pool in the garden.
Alexander-Arnold would join a host of Real Madrid stars to have called La Finca home, with club legends Iker Casillas, Raul and Zinedine Zidane having resided there during their spells at the club.
More recently, the likes of Eden Hazard and Toni Kroos are among those to have called the neighbourhood home.

One of La Finca’s most recent residents is another of Real Madrid’s marquee free transfers, with Kylian Mbappe reported to have paid €10.5m to buy a luxury mansion formerly owned by Gareth Bale.
Stars have tended to reside in either Los Lagos I or II, named after the artificial lakes created in the complex, with the former featuring the larger properties.
La Finca vows to deliver an ‘exclusive combination of luxury and security to make our guests’ lives comfortable and peaceful’.
The private development says it guests with security ’24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.’
‘Continuously monitored perimeter fences protect the paradise of LAFINCA,’ the development’s website states.
‘Located in Pozuelo de Alarcón, 10 minutes from downtown Madrid and the airport. Close to international schools, private clinics, shopping centers with the most exclusive stores, and a wide range of sports and leisure activities.
‘With a contemporary and elegant architecture, its horizontal forms blend seamlessly into nature, creating a perfectly harmonious complex that offers our guests a unique setting.’
An alternative location for Alexander-Arnold could be the La Moraleja neighbourhood, which is located close to Real Madrid’s Valdebebas training ground.

David and Victoria Beckham opted to stay in La Moraleja during his time at Real Madrid
David and Victoria Beckham bought a home in La Moraleja in June 2005 for £3m after the former England captain joined Real Madrid. They sold it to a wealthy Spanish entrepreneur for £4.2m nearly ten years later and eight years after they moved out.
The home had boasted an outdoor heated swimming pool, tennis courts, a small football pitch and a children’s play area.
Vinicius Jr and Luka Modric are among the current Real Madrid stars to opted to live in the La Moraleja neighbourhood. La Moraleja has long been one of the favourite residences for star footballers and other major names in Spain.
Those who have lived there include the likes of Beckham, Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, actress Ana Obregon and singer Isabel Pantoja.
It was previously a private estate belonging to a widowed marchioness until the middle of the 20th century before the construction of the first family homes. Within the main estate, residences are gated and private, while 24/7 security is in operation.
How could his life look in Madrid?
Should Alexander-Arnold opt for La Finca, the star could find himself a frequent visitor to the private developments recent projects.
La Finca opened its Grand Cafe centre in 2023, offering a mix of shopping options and restaurants.
Footballers have reportedly been frequent visitors to centre’s Indochina restaurant offering Asian cuisine, as well as the Italian Leonardo and sushi restaurant Tottori.
The centre also includes luxury outlets ranging from fashion, interior design, perfumes and a winery.
Elsewhere, La Finca recently opened a golf course exclusive to members which Alexander-Arnold could frequent if he decides to follow in Bale’s footsteps
The exclusive course also comes complete with its own gym, driving range and even has a dedicated helipad. La Finca also has its own David Lloyd fitness centre, which provides state-of-the-art gym facilities and private tennis lessons.

Alexander-Arnold, who has been seen at both Milan and Paris Fashion Week in the past, would also have a wide choice of shopping options in the Spanish captial with Calle de Serrano a likely location.
Calle de Serrano has become known as Madrid’s ‘Golden Mile’ due to its luxury stores, with designer brands including Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton and Prada among those on the street.
Last year, Alexander-Arnold was unveiled as an ambassador for Guess Jeans with the England international appearing in a shoot for the fashion brand with Iris Law, the daughter of actor Jude Law.
In terms of travelling around the Spanish capital, Alexander-Arnold would likely benefit from partnership Real Madrid have with German car manufacturer BMW.
Twenty-two players and Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti were gifted free luxury cars as part of the tie-up last year.
Bellingham, Mbappe and Modric all received black BMW XM for which on-the-road prices vary between £110,000 and £175,000.
Who could join Alexander-Arnold in Madrid?
Alexander-Arnold could make the move to the Spanish capital with his influencer girlfriend Estelle Behnke.
The outgoing Liverpool star sparked rumours of a romance in November when the pair enjoyed a meal out in Cheshire and a day at the Christmas markets.
The pair had been seen ‘stopping by’ the Venetian restaurant after Liverpool’s win over Leicester on Boxing Day. They were also spotted at the Soho Farmhouse in the Cotswolds with both tagging themselves there in separate Instagram posts.
Alexander-Arnold and Behnke also jetted off to Venice in December.

He has also previously described his brothers Marcell and Tyler – who is a director at PLG the agency that represents the Liverpool star – as his best friends.
They have been a fundamental part of his journey through professional football, so it would be no surprise if they join him.
