Trent Alexander-Arnold has revealed Arne Alot was extremely angry following Liverpool’s dreadful first half against Southampton on Saturday.
The bottom-ranked Premier League team took a shock lead against the hosts while the Dutchman watched the game from the stands due to his suspension.
Game footage showcased the Reds’ boss visibly upset with his side’s drab display when Will Smallbone’s strike gave the lead for Southampton.
Furthermore, in an interview with LFCTV after the final whistle, Alexander-Arnold criticised his team’s performance in the first half despite their impressive comeback victory at Anfield.
‘Probably the most (angry) we have seen him so far, I guess it’s a good thing he’s not been too animated so far, but I think rightfully so,’ said the 26-year-old.
‘It wasn’t good enough, we deserved to be down, but we came out second half with a point to prove and did that really early on.

The Reds concluded the first half losing to the bottom-ranked Premier League side after Will Smallbone netted a goal in the 46th minute

The Dutch manager was seen visibly upset with the team’s performance before the coaching staff made three substitutions at halftime
‘As a team and individuals, you’d like to be very good every single game but it’s not possible.
‘You are going to have days like this where you don’t play well, you’re not proud of the performance. It’s a day you look back on it and think yeah we got the three points, that’s the most important thing.’
Darwin Nunez started the comeback in the 51st minute with a right-foot strike, followed by a brace from Mohamed Salah.
The Egyptian scored both his 26th and 27th Premier League goals from the penalty spot in one of the best campaigns of his illustrious career.
Salah remains the league’s top goalscorer with a confident lead of seven goals, above Erling Haaland and Alexander Isak.
In order to secure three crucial points at Anfield on Saturday, the coaching staff followed with three substitutions at half-time, as Andrew Robertson, Alexis Mac Allister and Harvey Elliott replaced Konstantinos Tsimikas, Curtis Jones and Dominik Szoboszlai.
Alexander-Arnold, who appeared on the pitch for 89 minutes, added: ‘We’ve done our work in the league now until after the internationals, now we focus on the two other competitions.’
Despite a one-goal lead, the Reds are ready for a challenging second-leg clash against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday in the Champions League round of 16.

However, Liverpool achieved a stunning comeback victory at Anfield, with Darwin Nunez equalising and Mohamed Salah scoring a brace to secure the lead in the second half
Elliott secured a smash-and-grab win in the 87th minute, while his strike was Liverpool’s only shot on target throughout the game.
Meanwhile, the Reds received 27 shots in total and 10 on target from Les Parisiens during a fantastic display by Alisson, who concluded the game with nine saves.
Should they progress further, Slot’s men will face the winner between Club Brugge and Aston Villa.
Liverpool confidently sit in first place in the Premier League table after 29 games with 70 points – 16 above second-placed Arsenal.
The Reds are also fighting for the Carabao cup before the international break, as they will take on Newcastle – without Anthony Gordon due to suspension – in the final.
