Travis Kelce’s close pal Andrew Santino has revealed the NFL star told him he was going to propose to Taylor Swift months before he finally got down on one knee.
Kelce and Swift broke the internet last month when they announced their long-awaited engagement, coming almost two years since they went public with their romance.
Earlier this week Santino, who has been good friends with Kelce for a number of years, shocked fans when he admitted during an appearance on Barstool Sports’ Pardon My Take podcast that he doesn’t expect to get an invite to the wedding.
And to sum up how surprising that would be, the comedian went on to explain how Travis confided in him about his engagement plans roughly four months ago.
‘We had golf together in like April or May, and yeah, he said he was doing it,’ Santino said about the proposal. ‘But he didn’t say when.’
He then added: ‘But I don’t pry. We didn’t talk about it. He’s brought something up about it, and then I never asked again.’

Santino also said that he contacted Travis and Taylor to congratulate them on the engagement despite the fact it ‘happened much earlier.’
‘We just FaceTimed them to say congrats,’ he recalled before adding that he was ‘stoked’ for the couple.
While they are still basking in the glow of their happy news, many have already turned their attention to Kelce and Swift’s big day, which will undoubtedly bring most of the country to a standstill.
Yet despite his years of friendship with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, Santino doesn’t think he will land an invitation after suggesting his popstar fiancee has the final say on who attends.
‘I doubt it,’ he confessed when quizzed on whether he would be at the wedding.
‘I don’t think I got that invite. You know she’s controlling that guest list. I’m not on that list. Trav is my boy. I love him to death. But I highly doubt [it].
‘Look, I will say this. I played with my old man two days ago and we FaceTimed him (Travis) to say congrats. Maybe I’ll catch a bachelor party invite.
‘You could do bachelor and not wedding. In fact, [I’d] prefer it. I’d rather do bachelor and no wedding. I don’t want to do weddings in general anymore. So if you can give me the bachelor party without the wedding.’
Santino has been friendly with Kelce for a number of years after the Chiefs legend appeared on his podcast ‘Whiskey Ginger’ back in 2019.

He repaid the favor last year when he joined Travis and his brother Jason on their ‘New Heights’ podcast, sharing a hilarious story about the three-time Super Bowl winner’s wardrobe malfunction.
‘My editor calls me, and he’s like: ‘Bro, I don’t know how to tell you this, but Travis was falling out of his shorts,” Santino said, telling the tale of Kelce’s appearance on his podcast. ‘I was like: ‘What are you saying, dude? What do you mean [by] falling out of his shorts?”
‘He was like: ‘his boys were sliding out,” he continued. ‘And I was like: ‘Oh no.”
As Travis and Jason’s laughter ensued, Santino continued to tell the story, noting how his editor asked if they should re-shoot the podcast. However, the comedian came up with a hilarious solution.
‘He goes: ‘Do you wanna call him and re-shoot it?’ and I said: ‘Just put a Kansas City Chiefs logo over whenever it falls out.’
The pals have also hit the golf course together, playing alongside Justin Timberlake in the 44-year-old pop star’s 8AM Golf Invitational in Las Vegas this year.
