Travis Kelce has been spotted for the first time since he and Taylor Swift announced their engagement – as the Chiefs star took to the practice field like usual.
Kelce and Swift, both 35 years old, stunned the world on Tuesday afternoon as they shared their plans to get married, with the couple sharing photos from their engagement in a joint Instagram post.
But Kelce didn’t let his big news get in the way of his job as he was seen warming up alongside his friend and teammate Patrick Mahomes.
The tight end and quarterback could be seen chatting following the announcement, which Kelce and Swift cheekily captioned on social media.
‘Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,’ they wrote, as they shared photos from their engagement in a rose garden.
The news elicited a congratulatory response from Mahomes, who celebrated his teammate’s big update by sharing the post alongside three love hearts.

His wife, Brittany, posted her own tribute. ‘Two of the most genuine people meet and fall in love,’ she wrote on Instagram. ‘Just so happy for these two.’
The Chiefs also reacted to the news with a heartfelt message to the couple. ‘Today is a fairytale,’ the team wrote alongside a picture of Kelce and Swift.
However, Kelce’s teammate Mike Danna knew nothing of the engagement as he stepped up to the podium speak to reporters on Tuesday at practice.
The news – which broke just before he was set to speak – stunned the 27-year-old, and saw him inadvertently become a spokesperson for Kelce and his huge personal news.
‘I don’t know nothing!’ Danna joked, laughing out loud. ‘Man, it’s incredible. I was caught off-guard. But that’s a blessing, any time you find that joy, happiness, love, I think that is a beautiful thing.’
The Chiefs defensive end took the relentless questions about Kelce well, telling reporters: ‘Being the first one to talk to you guys about it, that’s shocking to me.’
Danna added that he had tried Swift’s famous pop tarts and gave them an outstanding review.
‘Man, listen. Those things will get you in trouble,’ he said. ‘Those things are like dessert and those things are like fire. if you have one, you will two, maybe three.’
Swift has become part of the Chiefs’ furniture since she started dating Kelce two years ago, as she’s frequently been spotted at Arrowhead Stadium (and elsewhere) to cheer him on.
Kelce and the Chiefs’ success mean that Swift has gotten to see her beau play in the Super Bowl in consecutive years, first beating the 49ers in early 2024 before falling to the Eagles in February.
Kelce, who had a quiet four catches for 39 yards as the Chiefs were blown out, strongly mulled retirement following the game.
However, he ultimately elected to come back for at least one more season as he will play his 13th season for the Chiefs.
Kansas City will face off against the Chargers in Sao Paulo to open the NFL schedule next Friday.
