Liam Rosenior gives Raheem Sterling and Axel Disasi update after Chelsea exile

Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has revealed the club are “in conversations” with Raheem Sterling about his future, but fellow exiled teammate Axel Disasi has returned to first-team training.

“We’re in conversations with Raheem at the moment about different things going on in his career,” Rosenior said.

“Hopefully that will be clearer in the next couple of days.”

Speaking on Disasi, Rosenior added: “My decision on Axel: I had a really good meeting with him a couple of days ago.

“I said to the players when I came in that it’s a clean slate for everybody so it was only right for me to chat with him. He’s behind in terms of his fitness, his match fitness and we’ll work with him.”

Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior stresses Enzo Fernandez’s importance amid speculation

Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior has pinned his team’s hopes for success on Enzo Fernandez following speculation he is wanted by Real Madrid.

Of the rumours that another club could swoop for the 25-year-old, Rosenior said: “It means nothing to me. When you’re a world-class player there’s always going to be speculation that you can’t control.

“He’s a Chelsea player. He’s very important to me. I think we’re going to have a really good, hopefully winning relationship in the short term and the long term.”
