Miguel Delaney: Sarina Weigman analysis piece

The summer transfer window is ramping up as Premier League clubs look to add to their squads.

Arsenal are looking to beat Tottenham to Eberechi Eze and reports say they have a clean run at signing the Crystal Palace star – but they want to pay below his release clause. The Gunners continue to be linked with Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres, and it appears the latter is now pushing for a move to London. In the meantime, Arsenal have planned a medical for incoming Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard and agreed to pay above the release fee for Martin Zubimendi.

Manchester United, meanwhile, have secured Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5m and are negotiating with Brentford about Bryan Mbeumo, having submitted an improved offer. Sporting’s Gyokeres is also on their list of potential additions, while Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins has latterly emerged as a target.

Florian Wirtz is now officially a Liverpool player after agreeing a record £116.5m deal for the German superstar, while Reds defender Jarell Quansah has joined Bayer Leverkusen in a £35m deal meaning the Reds have turned their sights on Marc Guehi as his replacement.

Chelsea are set to sign Jamie Gittens after Borussia Dortmund accepted an offer of £55m for the former England Under-21s winger, who will have a medical, while the Blues have confirmed to signing of Brighton’s Brazil forward Joao Pedro.

Eze price revealed as Arsenal continue pursuit

Eberechi Eze will not be sold for a price lower than £68m reports The Mirror.

That is the value of the winger’s release cluase and Palace are unwilling to negotiate for less than that fee.

Arsenal are favourites to sign Eze this summer but there is also interest from Tottenham too.

The Gunners are figuring out the value of such a deal as signing Eze would affect their options to bring in a centre forward.

Guardiola to hold talks with Man City players

Pep Guardiola will talk with Manchester City players ahead of the new season with the squad expected to be reduced in the transfer window.

The Sun reports that Guardiola said: “We have a big squad and we’ll see what happens.

“It’s tough. I’ve no idea – we’ll see with the club which ones. We’ll talk with the players as well.

“But we’ll rest, come back in the next few days and start the Premier League. The season will be so long and many things can happen. That’s the reality.

“It’s a really good squad but I’m disappointed for many players we would have loved to let them play but it wasn’t possible. “

Tottenham target Mohammed Kudus

It is 14 years now since Scott Parker left West Ham for Tottenham in the last direct dealing between the two rival London clubs – but if The Telegraph are to be believed, there could yet be another player skirting northward around the city.

Mohammed Kudus is said to be a top target for Thomas Frank as he seeks to add attacking talent to his squad after a blow in their pursuit of Bryan Mbeumo.

Arsenal complete permanent deal for Chloe Kelly

Arsenal have completed the permanent signing of England international Chloe Kelly after a successful loan spell last season.

The Gunners have confirmed that the 27-year-old, who is currently on Euro 2025 duty with the Lionesses, has returned to the club at which she spent eight years earlier in her career “subject to the completion of regulatory processes” following the expiration of her deal at Manchester City.

Kelly, who it is understood has agreed a three-year deal, made 13 appearances under head coach Renee Slegers last season after joining on loan in January and picked up a Champions League winners’ medal after victory over Barcelona in Lisbon.

Kelly said: “Putting pen to paper on a permanent contract at Arsenal is a standout moment for me. Learning from an incredible manager and continuing to build relationships with an excellent team is a journey I’m looking forward to continuing.

“I’m excited for more silverware at this special club and to bring more trophies back to north London to celebrate with our supporters.

“I’ve always said that Arsenal supporters are the best and to have them on my side singing my name means so much to me.”

Bayern want Rashford?

Bayern Munich are reportedly considering a move for Marcus Rashford.

Rashford’s future remains slightly unclear, the forward now back at Manchester United after Aston Villa elected not to sign him permanently.

Could Bayern Munich be a possible destination?

The Mirror believe so, with Bayern keen to add to their forward options particularly on the left side of the frontline.

That would mean a link up with England captain Harry Kane and could potentially be a fantastic move for the out of favour United forward.

Hurzeler on keeping Mitoma

Brighton boss, Fabian Hurzeler, told Sky Sports News:

“We try to keep our best players. Mitoma played a great last season but it’s only because we as a club worked together. Then you can shine as individuals.

“It’s the most important that all the players try to understand that. Mitoma understood it the last season.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing him back [on Thursday for pre-season]. That’s the plan. We look forward to continue working with him, to try to improve him because I still think his limit is not reached yet.

“That’s our job, his job the job of the whole club to get the best potential out of the players and that’s what we’re looking for in the pre-season. I’m sure he will be an important part of us.”
