Keep informed of how changes could affect your business

Invest Northern Ireland is hosting a series of advice clinics on trading with the US across their regional offices in Belfast, Derry~Londonderry, Newry, Omagh, and Ballymena in the coming weeks.

The United States (US) has introduced new tariffs on a wide range of imported products with the possibility of further tariffs to follow.

As both the UK and EU consider their respective responses, all of these have the potential to impact on Northern Ireland companies exporting to and importing from the US.

What can I expect from attending an advice clinic?

Attendees will avail of one-to-one advice on managing both recent and planned changes to tariffs when exporting to and importing goods from the US.

You can book 11 appointments with international trade experts, Dr Anna Jerzewska (exporting to the US) and Jonathan Walsh (importing from the US). You’ll also be able to book an appointment with an Invest NI supply chain advisor.

The advice clinics are designed to proactively support businesses to

  • Know how to find the applicable tariff(s)
  • Understand the origins of your goods
  • Tackle complexities such as reclaiming EU tariffs on US imports that remain in the UK
  • Assess risks to your supply chains and take steps to minimise disruption
  • Explore the opportunity to diversify into new markets
  • Prepare for sector-specific impacts
  • Plan amid uncertainty
