Tottenham have completed their first signing since appointing Thomas Frank as the club’s new manager.
Despite enduring one of their worst-ever domestic campaigns Spurs ended the season on a high as Ange Postecoglou led the club to Europa League glory with victory over Manchester United.
However, the Australian was ultimately sacked just weeks after claiming the club’s first silverware in nearly two decades and replaced by Thomas Frank.
The former Brentford boss will be looking to push on after arriving at the Tottenham Hotspur and has waited little time in preparing for next season.
With the new campaign on the horizon, Spurs have completed the signing of Mathys Tel on a permanent deal from Bayern Munich, with the Frenchman agreeing a six-year contract after the buy option was activated.
Having found himself struggling for minutes at the Allianz Arena Tel initially arrived in north London in February, with Spurs paying a €10million loan fee to secure the 20-year-old’s services until the end of the campaign.

The club announced on Sunday that they have activated the buy option to sign Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich
The forward spent the latter half of last season on loan in north London, netting three goals from 20 appearances
Tel would go on to make 20 appearances for Spurs in all competitions, scoring three goals.
Five of those appearances came in the club’s victorious European campaign, however Tel was a non-playing substitute at last month’s final in Bilbao.
However, his time at the club was not without controversy.
In March Tel received backlash from Spurs fans on social media after sharing a photo of himself wearing a shirt bearing the name of former Chelsea star Willian.
The post was swiftly taken down with Tel later explaining in an Instagram comment that he was not aware of the contentious history.
He wrote: ‘Ahaha sorry my bad guys I didn’t know.’
Tel is currently representing his native France at the UEFA under-21 European Championships in Slovakia, alongside his Spurs team-mate Wilson Odobert.
