TNT Sports presenter Orla Chennaoui has revealed she was mugged in London earlier this month, shortly after hosting a university event featuring former US secretary of state Hillary Clinton.

Chennaoui is best known for presenting cycling coverage on TNT Sports and was a key part of Discovery’s coverage of last year’s Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

In a social media update with fans, Chennaoui revealed the distressing story of how she had her phone snatched out of her hand in London.

Chennaoui revealed in a packed week she had been invited to return to Queen’s University Belfast to host an anniversary dinner featuring Clinton.

Clinton, who was named as the chancellor of the university back in 2020, revealed an £8million bursaries fund to help more students access higher education.

Chennaoui stated she was ‘completely overwhelmed’ by hosting the event featuring Clinton.

The presenter then revealed that she had been mugged the following morning in London, with her phone being snatched from her hand.

‘I was mugged on the way to the station the following morning,’ Chennaoui said.

‘Total cliché, hooded gent on a bike snatched it out of my hand.

‘Panic for the family, who only heard me screaming before the phone went dead, and couldn’t get hold of me…

‘But in the end could have been much worse, only a stolen, no bodily damage.’

Chennaoui added that her week had a further negative moment after she needed to have surgery on her left hand.

‘When I cut my finger while crafting with my daughter last week, turns out I’d slice to the bone and severed a tendon.

‘Surgeon took one look and decided we had to operate on the spot (thank you for foregoing your lunch break Dr.

‘I’ll save you the gory pics, but this is what I’ve been left with for now.

‘So in the same week that I was mugged, I was left with one inoperable hand

‘Sometimes good stuff happens, sometimes bad, the universe isn’t out to get you, it just is what it is.’
