Three people have been released on bail after their arrest following the discovery of a woman’s body in an apartment close to a city centre bar.

The woman, who worked at Gorilla bar in Manchester, was found at the flat near the Deaf Institute bar and music venue on Grosvenor Street after police attended reports of concern for welfare on Thursday evening.

Three arrests were made but in an update on Saturday, Greater Manchester Police confirmed they have all been released.

On Friday Gorilla bar, which shares parent company Tokyo Industries with the Deaf Institute, shared a post to Instagram which said its “thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends” of their colleague.

It added it did not have any “detailed information” about what happened, adding it would be inappropriate to comment during the ongoing police investigation.

On Friday, police confirmed a woman had been found dead. A statement from GMP said: “Officers responded to an incident on Grosvenor Street, Manchester, after reports of a concern for welfare.

“Sadly, officers discovered the deceased body of a 19-year-old woman. Three arrests were made in connection to drug supply.”
