Thomas Frank is still fighting to save his job at Tottenham after his side’s home defeat by West Ham on Saturday.

There is growing frustration around the club at a poor run of results despite the willingness to give the Dane a change to turn his side’s fortunes around.

Daily Mail Sport reported on Saturday that the north London club are now considering a change of manager, but are not preparing an imminent announcement.

As it stands, the plan is for Frank to take charge for the visit of Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday. Beyond that, there is now uncertainty over how long he will be given to turn things around.

He is expected to be quizzed on his future by media at his Monday press conference, which will be held ahead of the Dortmund game in the afternoon.

Frank is expected to take training on Monday, and will then take to the press room soon after along with a player – but there is no guarantee that will be the case.

According to The Times, the lack of options of a replacement is a concern for Spurs should they sack their current boss, though it is believed that discussions around replacements have been held.

The likes of Xabi Alonso, Mauricio Pochettino and Andoni Iraola will not be on the market until the summer, and there is a chance that new assistant John Heitinga could be a temporary boss until the end of the season.

Spurs are, though, 14th in the Premier League and just 10 points above the relegation zone and club bosses are keen to ensure that they do not get dragged into a survival fight.

The message in the build-up to the West Ham game was that Frank had the support of the hierarchy and there was no appetite for change. However, such was the toxicity inside the stadium as Tottenham went down to a 93rd-minute defeat, it is thought the club are weighing up all options.

Heitinga arrived as Frank’s assistant last week and, while it was insisted at the time that the former Ajax boss was not an interim-manager-in-waiting, his presence does provide Tottenham chiefs with a temporary option, should they decide to call time on the Dane’s seven months in charge.

Tottenham are on a run of one win in eight in all competitions and home fans taunted Frank with chants of ‘You’re getting sacked in the morning’ after Callum Wilson’s late winner for West Ham on Saturday.
