Olympic gold medallist Noemie Fox has revealed she’s had to receive stitches after cutting herself with a bread knife.

The 2024 Paris Olympics Kayak Cross champion has recounted the scary incident to her legion of fans on social media.

She has posted multiple Instagram stories in order to detail her ideal this week.

Fox begins her story dump with a photo of her looking happy and ready to seize the day in her car, captioned ‘How my Monday started’.

The Olympic champion then shows how quickly life can change.

Her second post reveals her looking upset and scared seated in a room with medical tools to her right, which is captioned ‘How my Monday ended’.

She then explains how she found herself in the position of having to be treated, by disclosing she had to receive stitches after cutting herself with a bread knife.

After the 28-year-old’s trio of photos portraying her nightmare Monday, Fox’s next story is her verbally explaining the incident.

‘Big cut, four stitches, and it hurts, still a little bit’, Fox said.

‘The first time I’ve ever had stitches.

‘Just very frustrating just considering how avoidable all this could have been’.

‘Could be much worse, but could have you know, just not happened in the first place’.

The incident comes just days after the Olympic star was spotted at the Australian Open with some fellow big names.

Fox watched some matches with boxer Harry Garside and NRLW stars Kezie Apps and Jessica Sergis.

The 28-year-old is now recovering from the injury by completing sessions at the gym, and also walking her dog Pinky.

The Fox sisters shot to prominence at the 2024 Olympics in Paris when they won three gold medals between them.

Noemie claimed her first Olympic medal by winning gold in the women’s kayak cross, becoming the discipline’s first ever Olympic champion.

Jessica secured gold in both the women’s kayak single and women’s canoe single in Paris.

Across four Olympic appearances, Jessica has now won six Olympic medals.

In recognition of their achievements, an island at Penrith Whitewater Stadium has been officially named ‘Fox Island’ in their honour.
