‘After 26 years of hosting weddings at Tythe and showing countless couples around, I wanted to ensure that both partners had a dedicated space if they wanted it,’ added Emma. ‘So, they both felt equally important, equally celebrated, and properly looked after from the very start of their day.’
As well as responding to demand from couples for more overnight accommodation on the estate, the arrival of The Lodge also helps solve the tricky problem of the very changeable British weather. Now, on a wet weather day, guests have the added option of serving drinks in The Lodge before moving to the Thatched Barn for the ceremony, without compromising the sense of privacy and rural location that is exclusively theirs for the day.
‘Watch this space,’ says Emma. ‘We have plans to build an itinerary of activities around The Lodge focused on serving locally sourced food, a Whiskey service and games to keep everyone entertained.’
