Anthony Joshua’s fight with Jake Paul had its critics before, during and after the bout, but there was a surprising voice who vocalised his displeasure at what he saw too.
Joshua recorded a sixth-round knockout of the YouTuber-turned-boxer at the Kaseya Center in Miami.
Paul was out of his depth during the contest and spent the majority of it running around the enlarged ring rather than engage with the former two-time heavyweight world champion.
When Paul did decide to get within striking range, he would choose to wrestle Joshua around the ankles rather than throw a punch.
The tactics employed by the American annoyed Joshua and angered the Kaseya Center crowd – with boos echoing around the venue.
And the spectacle was a frustrating one for referee Chris Young who made it be known that this couldn’t continue.

The boxing referee was unhappy with the tactics used by Paul during Friday night’s bout
Paul was knocked out after six rounds and later shared that he suffered a double broken jaw
During through the fourth round, Young brought the two fighters together to remind them of their duty.
‘Both of you come here,’ he said.
‘Listen, it’s got to stop. The fans didn’t pay to see this c***. If you’re going to fight, you’re going to fight but fight within the rules.’
Two rounds later and the fight was over with Paul suffering a double broken jaw.
The former cruiserweight has since confirmed he would take a break from the sport but planned a shot at the cruiserweight world title.
‘I’m going to take a little break. I’ve been going hard for six years. I’ll take some time off. This is amazing,’ he said. ‘We will heal the broken jaw, come back and fight people my weight.’
Paul added: ‘Anthony Joshua is a great fighter, I got beat but that’s what this sport is about. I will come back and keep on winning.
‘I’ve already won in every single way of life. My family, my beautiful fiancée his sport has helped me so much in my life.’
