- Hong Kong sprinter is one to watch
Hong Kong superstar Ka Ying Rising has produced a storming finish to claim victory in the world’s richest horse race on turf, The Everest.
Jockey Zac Purton had the pre-race favourite two lengths off the lead heading into the straight of the $20million, Group 1 race over 1200m at Royal Randwick.
Ka Ying Rising, trained by Australian David Hayes in Hong Kong, finished over the top of the field to record its 14th straight victory.
‘I thought for a moment he was going to get hemmed in, but Zac is pretty good at getting out,’ Hayes told the Seven Network.
Tempted took second, with Jimmysstar third and Overpass fourth.
