Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian’s representatives have reportedly told NFL teams that he would be interested in potential job openings, including the Tennessee Titans.
Sarkisian is currently in his fifth year with the Longhorns, who sit fifth in the Southeastern Conference this season after going 5-2 in their first seven games.
Under his reign Texas became Big 12 champions back in 2023, something they had not achieved for 14 years.
Yet ahead of their game against Mississippi on Saturday, The Athletic’s Dianna Russini has revealed that Sarkisian is ready to leave the team and make the move up to the big leagues.
Representatives for the 51-year-old are understood to have contacted NFL decision-makers to express interest in any head-coach openings.
One of the teams they contacted is the Titans, who are currently without a permanent head coach after going 1-6 in their first seven games of the season.

Sarkisian has identified Tennessee, where Mike McCoy is in interim charge, as a potential job
Senior offensive assistant Mike McCoy took on the interim job after the firing of Brian Callahan earlier this month, and his only game in charge so far was a miserable 31-13 loss to the New England Patriots last weekend.
Titans officials are therefore unlikely to hand McCoy the reins on a full-time basis, meaning the door could be open for Sarkisian to leave Texas and head to Tennessee.
At the time of writing there are no other head-coach vacancies in the league, though plenty of teams could soon be tempted to make a change.
Miami Dolphins coach Mike McDaniels is under serious pressure after going 1-6, as is New York Jets counterpart Aaron Glenn (0-7).
The New Orleans Saints are also 1-6, while the 2-5 New York Giants and Arizona Cardinals have underwhelmed.
