Sydney Sweeney steals the show at NBA Finals Game 5 with Scooter Braun after awkward Taylor Swift run-in… as Timothee Chalamet and stars cheer on Knicks in San Antonio

Sydney Sweeney headlined the A-list New York Knicks fans who made the trip to San Antonio on Saturday night days after her surprise Madison Square Garden appearance.

The Knicks traveled back to San Antonio for Game 5 of the NBA Finals after stunning the Spurs with a miraculous 29-point comeback earlier in the week to go 3-1 up in the series.

And with the team’s first championship in 53 years on the line, naturally New York’s famous fanbase also made the journey.

Sweeney, who is dating lifelong Knicks fan and music producer Scooter Braun, surprised fans when she arrived alongside her boyfriend at MSG.

The Euphoria star appeared to suffer humiliation, however, as the couple failed to clinch a courtside seat. Instead, they had to settle for seats rows behind Taylor Swift, who took pride of place alongside the Haim sisters.

Braun, who was born and brought up in New York, has a longstanding feud with the Opalite singer over her master recordings.

Sweeney and Braun received redemption on Saturday, however, as they found themselves front and center at Frost Bank Center.

The actress wore a unique Knicks jersey-style top with New York superstar Jalen Brunson’s No 11 splashed on the front.

She was later seen slipping into an oversized vintage Knicks sports jacket, showing her support for the visiting team.

Sweeney wasn’t the only star in attendance as Timothee Chalamet continued his passionate fandom at Game 5.

The Marty Supreme actor has been courtside throughout the playoffs and Game 5 was no exception with Chalamet not missing out on the chance to see his beloved Knicks clinch the championship.

However, the Hollywood heartthrob’s girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, did not appear to have joined her beau for the clash.

The beauty mogul also did not attend any of the first three games of the series against the Spurs but she made her Finals debut on Wednesday back in the Big Apple.

The Daily Mail spotted the loved-up pair holding hands as they arrived inside the arena, with Kylie donning a low-key white cropped vest and jeans, while Timothee rocked double denim with a Knicks-inspired Chrome Hearts jacket.

As they walked through the bowels of MSG in their matching outfits, Kylie could be seen gazing lovingly at her man as he guided her through.

Back in San Antonio, the ever-loyal Spike Lee was also present with another of his customary eclectic and vibrant outfits.

Other notable names sat courtside included John Turturro, Tracy Morgan, Allan Houston, and Knicks legend Patrick Ewing.

However, Swift did not repeat Wednesday’s blockbuster appearance, snubbing the trip to San Antonio with her wedding to Travis Kelce on the horizon.

The 14-time Grammy Award winner had donned a ‘Stevie Knicks’ t-shirt to sit alongside her besties, the Haim sisters, at Game 4 on Wednesday.

Swift sat courtside two seats down from Hollywood A-lister and Knicks superfan Ben Stiller, while she was flanked on either side by Alana and Este Haim.

She was shown on the jumbotron earlier in the game, receiving rapturous applause which was in stark contrast to the boos heard for President Donald Trump on Monday night.

The popstar was also happy to pose for photos with fans and other big names courtside, including ESPN’s lead host Ernie Johnson.

Meanwhile, back across the five boroughs, New Yorkers hoping to witness the team’s first championship since 1973 packed into bars and public watch parties throughout the city on Saturday night.

Rush hour in New York usually takes a pass on Saturdays, but not with countless Knicks fans and World Cup tourists clogging the city’s trains, subways and highways ahead of the Finals and a Group C match between Brazil and Morocco.

The Knicks did host watch parties outside of MSG and Radio City Music Hall, although only 3,000 ticketed fans were permitted within the NYPD’s ‘frozen zone’ around the arena.

Meanwhile, attendees at the theatre were allowed to watch on big screen televisions for $10 per person. Proceeds from the tickets were set to be donated to MSG’s Garden of Dreams foundation.

After blowing a 29-point lead in their historic Game 4 collapse at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday, the Spurs and superstar Victor Wembanyama entered Game 5 facing elimination
