Footy star Errol Gulden has admitted his girlfriend ‘wasn’t happy’ when she found out he’d been chosen to share a special moment with Sydney Sweeney on Sunday.
The Swans midfielder got to present the Hollywood star with a personalised jersey before she watched the club’s big win over the Melbourne Demons at the SCG.
Gulden’s teammates started a rumour that he volunteered to meet Sweeney and hand over the team merchandise, but the 23-year-old was keen to set the record straight after the game.
‘Absolutely not,’ Gulden said in the sheds after the 17-point win.
‘I’ve been stitched up there.
‘My girlfriend wasn’t happy when she found out.

‘I was roped into that by the media team, but it was lovely to meet her, she’s so nice.’
Asked if he ‘put up a lot of resistance’ to being given the job of meeting the star of Euphoria, Gulden laughed and said, ‘Yeah, I did, heaps!’
Sweeney remarked ‘That’s so cool!’ when Gulden handed her a guernsey with her surname emblazoned on the back before kickoff, with the pair briefly embracing as she showed it off in the stands at the SCG along with Sydney AFLW star Taylor Smith.
The 28-year-old posted her AFL experience on Instagram, posting a video from the game with the caption, ‘Getting it all in for the weekend.’
Sweeney attended the match with her father Steven, with the pair featured on TV coverage of the match as she waved for the cameras while wearing her Swans baseball cap.
Rocking up to Swans matches is starting to become a habit for the American star.
She also watched on as Sydney beat Hawthorn in March 2023, when she was Down Under to film the romcom Anyone But You.
Sweeney revealed that the Swans players took a shine to her, with her co-star Glen Powell joking that ‘the whole team slid into her DMs’.

‘I had a blast. I got to meet everybody. I want to go back,’ the actress told Channel Ten’s The Project.
Sweeney also ran into Gulden at that match as she was pictured giving a thumbs-up with him in the dressing rooms after the victory.
She was also courted by a Swans fan who invited her to sit with him and his mates when she revealed she was at the match on her Instagram story.
Sweeney’s admirer wrote, ‘Queen wya [where you at]? We’re bay 30, come link up.’
Sydney appeared to be having the time of her life on the day, as she and her actor pals Dermot Mulroney and Rachel Griffiths wore matching Sydney Swans scarves.
On Sunday, the superstar appeared in excellent spirits despite no doubt suffering jet lag after her long-haul flight into the country.
The Housemaid star was spotted touching down in Sydney on Saturday, cutting a low-key figure as she navigated the terminal with a suitcase in tow.
The sighting marked her first public appearance since confirming her romance with music mogul Scooter Braun – and it comes hot on the heels of their headline-making weekend at the Stagecoach Music Festival.
Gulden – who is out for an extended period after suffering a shoulder dislocation in round one this year – is in a relationship with Grace Scott.
The couple walked the red carpet at the 2023 Brownlow Medal in one of their first high-profile public appearances together, and they enjoyed a holiday to South America in the offseason.
