The Seattle Seahawks will face the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX after they edged out the Rams in a rollercoaster NFC Championship game.
Sam Darnold led Seattle to a thrilling 31-27 victory at Lumen Field on Sunday night, breaking the hearts of Matthew Stafford, Sean McVay and Co.
Next month’s showdown in San Francisco will be the Seahawks’ fourth Super Bowl and their first since 2014, when they lost to New England – their opponents at Levi’s Stadium on February 8.
Sunday’s victory caps a remarkable campaign for quarterback Darnold, an eight-year veteran playing for his fifth team, and second-year head coach Mike McDonald.
Darnold threw for three touchdowns and 346 yards – without an interception – in perhaps the biggest performance of his career.
But when asked how it felt to prove wrong his doubters, the quarterback insisted: ‘That doesn’t matter to me… these guys in the locker room, that’s what it’s about for me.’
