Brooks Nader has broken her silence on claims by her camp that she was involved in a love triangle with Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz against the backdrop of the US Open.
The social media star was alleged to have been dating both men, with Nader’s sister Grace Ann first sparking speculation two weeks ago by saying that her sibling was involved with someone ‘whose name rhymes with winner’.
Grace Ann later confirmed at a red-carpet event during the tournament that the ‘rumours were true’ and that Alcaraz was ‘the man of the hour’.
The Spaniard’s camp have in turn gone as far as denying that the world No 1 and the Sports Illustrated model are involved.
But Nader added fuel to the fire with comments made on late-night television show Watch What Happens Live on Wednesday evening.
When asked about the Challengers-esque dating set-up by host Andy Cohen, Nader said: ‘I would just say, a lady never kisses and tells – especially twice, that’s just not nice.
‘Dating is such a loose term these days. It’s just… I don’t know.
‘By the way, my only thing is, guys do it all the time, so why can’t I do it?’
When previously asked about a potential relationship with either player at The Daily Front Row’s 12th annual Fashion Media Awards alongside designer Zac Posen, Nader demurred in a similar fashion, stating that she was ‘just here’ for Posen.
Sinner and Alcaraz faced off during the US Open in their third Grand Slam final of the season, with the Spaniard claiming the spoils and recapturing the world No 1 ranking from his Italian rival.
But as sources close to Nader would have it, the pair are rivals off-court too.
Nader had front-row seats to watch Alcaraz beat Arthur Rinderknech en route to the final, but has not otherwise been sighted with the 22-year-old.
Among those to rubbish Nader’s claims of a relationship with Alcaraz was journalist Alberto Guzman, who cited information from Alcaraz’s inner circle when giving insight on Spanish TV show ‘No Somos Nadie’ last week.
‘They’re not dating, it’s not an official relationship,’ he said, via 20 Minutos.
‘(Alcaraz) confirmed to those close to him that he is single and has no intention of having any serious relationships. Perhaps she is not well informed.’
But sources close to Nader would have it that the Love Thy Nader reality star is equally footloose romantically.
‘Brooks’ agenda, now, is to be connected to every story, relationship or drama as much as possible,’ A close acquaintance told the Sun.
‘She wants to sell her show and have people continue to watch and continue her quest to be a huge reality star.
‘So, the more she is in the news, the better. And for her dating life, she is looking to be single and ready to mingle and not settle down with Carlos or Jannik or anyone for that matter – but she is looking to have lots of fun.’
As for Sinner, the world No 2 is believed to be in a relationship with the former girlfriend of Formula One star Mick Schumacher – Laila Hasanovic – one year on from splitting with fellow tennis star Anna Kalinskaya.
Hasanovic, 24, had previously been spotted in the stands at the French Open and Wimbledon, but the four-time Grand Slam champion has staunchly avoided questions over his personal life.
But the Italian appeared to let slip that Hasanovic was part of his life while checking his phone on-court – with fans believing that Sinner has a picture of the Danish model as his screensaver.
Hasanovic later jetted to New York to take in his semi-final against Felix Auger-Aliassime.
Their relationship was seemingly confirmed elsewhere by an unusual source – the owners of an ice cream shop steps from Sinner’s Monte-Carlo apartment.
Roberto and Nicoletta Stampfl, owners of the Santo Gelato told Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport: ‘Sinner and Laila Hasanovic live in the La Condamine neighborhood of Monte Carlo. Our shop is right under their building. I really liked Laila, she’s kind, just like Jannik.
‘She’s beautiful, very simple in the way she carries herself and dresses. In short, she’s a very down-to-earth girl.
‘Sinner knows (a lot) about (ice cream) when he comes here, he tastes before deciding. But in the end, he always chooses pistachio and black cherry, his favourite flavours.’
