Sir Keir Starmer has described his wife, Victoria, as an “absolute rock” and a source of encouragement for him ahead of a crucial Commons vote.

Appearing on the Cathy Newman Show on Sky News on Monday, 27 April, Sir Keir stated that he confides in his wife constantly and values her advice above all others.

He said that Victoria Starmer is urging him to “keep going” in his leadership role, indicating their shared discussions on his political future.

Starmer is scheduled to face a crucial Commons vote on Tuesday, 28 April, which has the potential to trigger an inquiry.

This inquiry would investigate claims that Sir Keir misled Members of Parliament concerning the appointment of Peter Mandelson as the US ambassador.
