Arizona Cardinals are ‘finalizing deal to hire Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon as new head coach’ after Philadelphia OC Shane Steichen took the Indianapolis Colts job

The Arizona Cardinals are reportedly finalizing a contract with Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon to become the team’s new head coach, according to ESPN.

News of Gannon’s hiring comes after the Indianapolis Colts announced that they were hiring Eagles offensive coordinator Shane Steichen, meaning that Philadelphia is losing both of its top assistants in the days after its Super Bowl LVII loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

A 40-year-old Cleveland native, Gannon coached the NFL’s second-ranked defense in 2022.
