Davante Adams has posted what is ostensibly a response to perceived criticism of the Raiders front office in a recent interview.
Adams posed a photo alongside general manager Dave Ziegler, captioned ‘the man’ Tuesday night.
It shortly followed the release of a feature interview Adams conducted with The Ringer’s Mirin Fader.
‘[They] think this is the best bet for us right now to put us in a position to be urgent,’ Adams said of the big changes made by Vegas. ‘We don’t see eye-to-eye on what we think is best for us right now.’
Seemingly, Adams was speaking to the decision to cut Derek Carr – Adams’ longtime friend and college teammate – and bring in Jimmy Garoppolo, who has worked under head coach Josh McDaniels in New England.

Garoppolo signed a three-year, $67.5million deal in March to be the franchise quarterback of the AFC West club.
Adams was traded from the Packers to Sin City in March 2022 and became the highest paid wideout in the NFL after signing a five-year, $141.25m deal.
Both Carr and Adams had long spoken about their desire to play with each other but the front office decided to jettison Carr – now at the New Orleans Saints – after another underwhelming season for the franchise.
Adams starred despite the inconsistency of the 6-11 Raiders, posting 1,516 receiving yards, 14 touchdowns and 100 receptions. He was named to his sixth consecutive Pro Bowl and became a first-team All-Pro for the third time.
‘It proved that I am me,’ Adams told the outlet, after his first season in the league without Aaron Rodgers.
A quarterback doesn’t make me… I make me. And I can do it consistently at this level.
‘That’s why [the] season meant a lot. Even if I went and played like dog s*** next year, they can’t say it. Because now I’ve already proved it throughout the course of a season, played every game, and put together a résumé that says I do not need…
Jimmy Garoppolo will be Adams’ newest quarterback after the Raiders jettisoned Derek Carr
The 30-year-old wide receiver was part of one of the NFL’s most lethal offenses under Rodgers
‘You can erase all the numbers. You can just write in: “He didn’t need Aaron Rodgers.”‘
Adams will face both the Packers (Week 5) and Rodgers – and the Jets – (Week 10) in Las Vegas.
The eventual Hall of Famer may soon have another quarterback to lean on. Tom Brady is said to be in ‘deep discussions’ to become a minority owner of the Raiders with ESPN reporting discussions between he and owner Mark Davis have been going on ‘for weeks.’
Sources cited by ESPN called the negotiations ‘extremely sensitive and fluid,’ while a source close to the situation said Brady’s investment would be ‘passive’ – as in, he’d have no control over business or football matters.
