Tai Woffinden has provided fans with an update on his health after suffering life-changing injuries following a crash that left him in a coma.
Woffinden, 34, from Scunthorpe, was involved in a collision with his Rzeszow club team-mate during a race in Poland.
He was airlifted to hospital in Krosno for emergency treatment while the meeting was subsequently abandoned.
Club officials confirmed Woffinden suffered multiple fractures and an injury to his chest during the pile-up.
Woffinden was due to return to the UK to compete for the Sheffield Tigers in the British Speedway Premiership against Birmingham on Thursday night.
Taking to Instagram, the speedway champion gave fans an insight into his recovery process, sharing a heart-warming video of his wife Faye shared a heartfelt post in which she thanked those who have cared for her husband during his hospitalisation.

He posted a clip of himself walking up and down with his partner Faye’s assistance and leaning on a crutch in what is sure to be an encouraging post for his fans.
Accompanied by an unreleased song as the backing track, Woffinden wrote: ’11 days post coma, gonna join the local 5km run after today i think.
‘Anyway the world keeps on turning and the track you’re hearing right now is OnlyYou out May 16th.’
It comes after his wife had taken to social media to reveal the heart-breaking reality facing her husband after his initial crash.
She wrote on Instagram that Tai was ‘fighting, healing, and resting’ after going through a traumatic accident, suffering a number of broken bones.
Faye wrote: ‘Multiple broken bones, major surgeries, blood transfusions – his body has endured so much.
‘And yet, his spirit stays strong. So does our hope. We’re holding on tightly, believing that each day will bring more healing, more strength, and more of him back to us.
‘Anyone who knows Tai knows how open, honest, and full of life he is.

‘To the special person we cannot name, whose quick actions arranged the helicopter to the track so promptly, and to the medical team inside who cared for Tai before he even reached the hospital—you gave him a fighting chance, and we will never forget that.

One of the most successful racers in the country, Woffinden won three Grand Prix world titles in 2013, 2015 and 2018, and also finished runner-up in 2016 and 2020.
He joined Sheffield in 2024 after previously riding for Scunthorpe, Rye House, Poole and Wolverhampton in the UK.
