HALF-TIME! South Africa 25-23 Argentina

And that’s half-time. What a crazy final 10 minutes of the half. Multiple tries and it means the Springboks lead at the break by two points. Should be a cracking second half

TRY! South Africa 25-23 Argentina (Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, 40+5 mins)

And South Africa are over! What an insane end to the half this has been.

Great patience by the Boks and eventually Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu shows quick feet to dance past a defender and scoot over the line. Ten minutes ago he had zero tries in his Test career, now he has two!

Easy conversion under the sticks and South Africa lead at the break!

South Africa 18-23 Argentina, 40+3 mins

There’s time to kick-off and South Africa win the ball back through Moodie. They churn through the phases and are into the 22.

Pieter-Steph du Toit with a barrelling run after an offload and looks to have scored but is tackled just short. The Boks are pushing…

TRY! South Africa 18-23 Argentina (Penalty try, 40 mins)

And it’s a PENALTY TRY for Argentina! Malcolm Marx is ruled to have dragged that maul down illegally, it would have been a score otherwise and so it’s seven points to the Pumas.

And Malcolm Marx is sin-binned for his troubles, so South Africa will be down to 14 men for the next 10 minutes.

South Africa 18-16 Argentina, 39 mins

Frantic end to this half! Argentina have an attacking lineout and drive the maul over the line but the ball is held up.

But we’ll go for a TMO check…

TRY! South Africa 18-16 Argentina (Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, 38 mins)

Immediate response by South Africa! That is superb.

Argentina are sleeping as Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu rifles a great kick behind the defensive line, towards the corner.

It looks as if it might go out for a 50-22 but instead sits up nicely, Moodie and Feinberg-Mngomezulu have chased hard, they get there before any Pumas defender and ti sits up for Feinberg-Mngomezulu to grab and dive over the line. Wow!

He then adds the tricky conversion to immediately put the Boks back ahead and wipe the memory of Kolbe’s moment of madness

TRY! South Africa 11-16 Argentina (Santiago Chocobares, 36 mins)

Oh no! Cheslin Kolbe what have you done?! A moment of madness from the winger.

Santiago Chocobares puts an aimless kick through and it runs into the in-goal area where Kolbe dots it down. Goal-line dropout South Africa.

Kolbe then mindlessly drop kicks the ball from out wide towards his own posts, trying to give it to a team-mate to take the kick. But that counts as the drop-out! And it bounces to Chocobares on the five-metre line, he gleefully grabs it and dives over the line for the try! Madness. Easy conversion and the Pumas lead

MISSED PENALTY! South Africa 11-9 Argentina, 35 mins

This is the toughest kick so far for Santiago Carreras. It’s 44 metres and out on the right. He curls the ball towards the posts but it drifts wide left. The Boks hold on to the lead

Luke Baker27 September 2025 16:53

South Africa 11-9 Argentina, 34 mins

Thumping kick clear by Willemse – a huge boot from the full back who so impressed in the centres last time out.

But then more ill-discipline from the Boks who are off their feet. Carreras will kick for the posts from out wide on the right.

Luke Baker27 September 2025 16:51

TRY! South Africa 11-9 Argentina (Malcolm Marx, 30 mins)

The Springboks kick to touch rather than taking the points. Can they use the momentum of that chalked-off score? Big opportunity.

Ball taken at the front of the lineout, Marx directs traffic from the back of the maul and THIS TIME THERE’S A TRY! Malcolm Marx steers the mass of men across the line and falls on the ball for the score. Well deserved

Conversion hits the post and stays out but South Africa hit the front
