  • Turkish side Fenerbahce have reportedly made an offer for the City defender
  • Walker has one year left on his deal at the Etihad and was loaned to AC Milan

Turkish side Fenerbahce have reportedly launched a shock bid for Manchester City full-back Kyle Walker.

A move to Istanbul would see the England international linking up with Jose Mourinho.

The 35-year-old’s future is uncertain after being loaned out to AC Milan in January, with the Italian club declining to make the move permanent.

The right-back previously said he ‘wanted to cry’ when he left City in January and admitted he didn’t think his time at City was over.

But he has just one year remaining on his contract at the Etihad and has been left out of Pep Guardiola’s squad for the Club World Cup.

Fenerbahce, who finished in second place in the Turkish Super Lig, 11 points behind champions Galatasaray, are looking for a full-back after releasing former QPR and Blackpool defender Bright Osayi-Samuel.

And they have now made an official offer for the 35-year-old, according to Turkish outlet Takvim.

Walker made 15 Premier League appearances for City last season but was shipped off on loan to Milan in the winter transfer window, temporarily ending an eight year association with the club.

The England star made his 96th England appearance during a torrid 3-1 home defeat to Senegal on Tuesday.

He has enjoyed a glistening career at the Etihad, winning a staggering six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups, the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup.

But his move to Milan was less fruitful.

His Italy switch came amid family drama off the pitch, with Walker fighting for his marriage with the mother of four of his children, Annie Kilner, after also fathering two kids with his influencer ex-mistress Lauryn Goodman.

After a bright start to life in the country’s fashion capital – going unbeaten in his first three starts – Walker’s form drastically dipped as Milan finished a surprisingly low eighth place in the league.

The Italian press reacted harshly to his spell in Serie A, with Tuttosport even claiming that failure has the face of [Kyle] Walker’ in a brutal assessment of his career in the country.

They also claimed that all he will be remembered for is his water-spitting prior to matches. Walker famously drinks water before spraying it into the air, which has made for some interesting pictures.

Fenerbahce’s bid came as City fans blasted Walker for admitting that he would trade one of his Premier League titles for Europa League victory.

Speaking on his Kyle Walker Podcast, the former City captain said: I’d probably give up one Premier League, not the first, to have won that with Tottenham.

‘I know what it means. I’d probably give my second. It’s hard to give one away, but for what that moment meant. To say that I was in that Spurs squad that won a trophy.’

His startling admission has enraged fans, with supporters calling for his exit.
