Danny Rohl is expected to take time over his next career move as speculation grows around the Sheffield Wednesday manager’s future.

Southampton, Red Bull Leipzig and Wolfsburg have all been monitoring developments with the 36-year old German who seems set to leave Hillsborough this summer.

Rohl was a leading contender to take over at Southampton in December after the sacking of Russell Martin.

Rohl has remained a coach of interest for Southampton, although there is no guarantee St Mary’s would be his preferred destination.

Will Still is set to be appointed as their next manager and Saints are also working to appoint Tim Lederer, from Hoffenheim, as their chief scout.

Other Premier League and German-based clubs are considering Rohl and suitors are expected to become clearer in the coming days.

A former Bayern Munich and Germany coach, Rohl is prepared to bide his time as a number of top flight options could emerge with clubs also looking to change manager in the next few weeks.

Rohl told media last month that Wednesday had been informed of ‘his decision’ regarding his next move and it is widely understood he is keen to move on from Hillsborough.
