Heisman Winner Travis Hunter will be among 17 players in attendance at next week’s NFL Draft in Green Bay, while his Colorado teammate Sheduer Sanders will be conspicuously absent.
The league announced on Monday that 17 players have been confirmed to attend the draft, including Hunter, Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter and Miami quarterback Cam Ward. The draft will be held from April 24-26, with Ward, Hunter and Carter the favorites to be selected with the top three picks, according to BetMGM.
Ward, the former Miami star, will be joined by two other quarterbacks at the draft with Ole Miss’s Jaxson Dart and Alabama’s Jalen Milroe also set to attend. However, Sanders will not be in attendance.
The son of Colorado coach and Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, Shedeur is projected to be going anywhere from third overall to the New York Giants to the later stages of the first round.
Of course, as he told reporters at his Pro Day earlier this month, Shedeur sees himself as the top quarterback in this draft.
‘I could bring cameras and eyes anywhere I go,’ Sanders declared after throwing passes to a fantastic foursome of Hunter, Jimmy Horn Jr., Will Sheppard and LaJohnty Wester at Colorado’s pro day, dubbed the ‘We Ain’t Hard 2 Find Showcase.’

‘It don’t matter where I go,’ Sanders said. ‘So wherever I go it’s definitely going to be an improvement than what it was before I got there.’
Deion Sanders has said he wants Shedeur to go to the right team with the right fit and he portrayed the Browns as an ideal possibility when asked about Shedeur and Hunter having dined with Browns bigwigs Thursday night.
No matter where he lands, Shedeur Sanders will be part of a rebuild, something he said he used to: ‘I don’t think Jackson State or Colorado had a winning history before I got there. So, it’s just another day in the office, another year in the office for me. It’s the same thing over and over.
‘I’m just thankful for the opportunity and whoever drafts me … will be very lucky to get me.’
Deion Sanders stuck by his proclamation that Shedeur and Hunter should go 1-2 in the draft, although he didn’t say who should be the top pick.
Of course, only one of them will be on hand in Green Bay on April 24.
As for those who will be in attendance, Milroe will be joined by two Crimson Tide teammates with linebacker Jihaad Campbell and guard Tyler Booker also accepting invitations.
Two other schools will have multiple players attending the draft in person with Michigan sending defensive tackle Mason Graham and cornerback Will Johnson and Georgia sending defensive end Mykel Williams and safety Malaki Starks.
The other players who are confirmed to attend the draft are LSU tackle Will Campbell, Texas receiver Matthew Golden, Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty, Arizona receiver Tetairoa McMillan, Ohio State tackle Josh Simmons, and Texas A&M defensive end Shemar Stewart.
