Shaquille O’Neal’s customized Range Rover has reportedly gone missing while being shipped between states.

According to reports, police are investigating whether hackers may have targeted the transport company moving the vehicle.

The $180,000 SUV – modified to fit the 7ft 1in basketball star – vanished while in the care of Atlanta-based firm Effortless Motors, Page Six reports.

The car was in the process of being customized by Effortless, in a move that would have reportedly taken it’s value up to $300,000, according to the report.

The company had then arranged to send the car from Atlanta to Louisiana earlier this week. It was collected on Monday but never arrived.

When Effortless contacted the transport company, they were told the vehicle could not be located.

According to Page Six, it’s believed thieves may have hacked into the company’s systems and changed delivery information to divert the car.

Effortless Motors, based in Georgia, has offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to its return.

A spokesperson told TMZ: ‘We take the security and trust of our clients very seriously. This was a highly coordinated criminal act targeting the transport company’s network.

‘We are working closely with law enforcement and federal investigators to recover the vehicle and hold those responsible accountable.’

Meanwhile, according to the same outlet, the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office said: ‘Preliminary information suggests that an unauthorized individual or company may have taken possession of the vehicle under false pretenses’.

O’Neal, 52, is said to be working with police to recover the vehicle.

Industry experts say vehicle thefts during transport are becoming more common.

In May, local news in Miami reported that a $300,000 Rolls-Royce disappeared after being shipped from South Florida to Detroit.

In that case, police said thieves may have altered delivery details to collect the car themselves.

The former Los Angeles Lakers star is a well-known car enthusiast. His collection, worth up to $4 million, includes models from Ferrari, Bentley, Lamborghini and Rolls-Royce – many customized to fit his size.

Authorities have not yet commented on the missing vehicle.
