Sex toy tricks CBS into embarrassing on-air blunder during NFL game

The disturbing trend of sex toys being thrown onto the fields and courts of professional sporting events in the US has led to a national broadcaster making an embarrassing error.

Over the summer, the WNBA was subject to a string of incidents involving fans throwing dildos onto the court. These incidents led to players getting hit by the flying objects and play even stopping.

Coaches, like Minnesota’s Cheryl Reeve, denounced the actions as crass and sexist. Members of the public who were responsible for these incidents have been searched for by local authorities and even arrested.

But the trend continued into other sports as well – with the NFL now the most recent league to be caught in the crossfire.

On Sunday afternoon, the Cincinnati Bengals and Jacksonville Jaguars played a game in Ohio when Bengals receiver Mitchell Tinsley caught a touchdown pass.

As the celebration went on, a bright green dildo – similar to ones hurled at WNBA players – came flying across the screen.

Someone working the control booth at CBS saw the bright colored object flying across the screen and appeared to believe it was a penalty flag.

Moments later, a graphic popped up indicating that a flag had been thrown when, in reality, that wasn’t the case.

In the aftermath of the first incidents in the WNBA, a meme coin appeared – suggesting that these displays were all part of a crypto scheme.

It’s not clear if that same crypto scheme is behind this incident.

The Bengals used the touchdown to spark a comeback to win the game – despite losing starting QB Joe Burrow to a turf toe injury that may end his season.
