Right-wing commentator Nick Adams has launched an angry attack on Beyonce for what he branded a ‘hyper-sexualized’ halftime show on Christmas Day in the NFL game between Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans.
The author, who Donald Trump made a member of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars as President in August 2020, slammed the singer, 43, for her performance at the NRG Stadium on Wednesday.
Adams wrote on X: ‘Fans were DISGUSTED by Beyoncé’s hyper-sexualized halftime show yesterday.
‘Millions of parents shut off Netflix within the first 2 minutes of Beyonce’s scantily clad gyrations and lip-syncing. Football fans would have much preferred a Lee Greenwood show.’
And Adams continued his attack on Friday morning, posting a graphic asking people to ‘describe Beyonce in one word’ with caption: ‘CRUDE!’.
While some of the replies to Adams mocked his view – a community note on his tweet added by other X users explained how Netflix ratings surged during Beyonce’s show – others supported him.

‘Country singers are classy. This is pure trash,’ one follower said to Adams.
Another wrote: ‘I’ve learned to not even turn these half time shows on. They are all disgusting.’
A different response said: ‘Football fans are not generally Beyonce fans. Go to the tailgates, listen to the music from the crowd, and give the fans what they want.
‘It’s not too difficult. People want Jelly Roll, Lil Wayne, and Chris Stapleton, not Beyonce.’
While viewing figures surged for the big moment – which Beyonce was reportedly paid $20million for – the Australian-born Adams is not the only critic.
Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy was also unimpressed, albeit he was not offended by it in the way Adams appears to have been.
‘Beyoncé has been LOST since Destinys Child,’ he wrote on X, retweeting his own post from 2023 saying he prefers Rihanna to her.
Beyonce, who has performed at two Super Bowls in her career, had several ‘special guests’ from her Cowboy Carter album join her on stage as previously revealed by Netflix.

The singer brought out the likes of Shaboozey and Post Malone for the performance.
Beyoncé’s halftime show during the Texas-Ravens games was also her first performance since husband Jay-Z was accused of rape, with a lawsuit accusing the music mogul and disgraced rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs of raping a 13-year-old girl at an MTV Video Music Awards after-party in New York in 2000.
Jay-Z strenuously denied the allegations, and a lawyer for Diddy, who is currently awaiting trial and behind bars on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution, also denied the accusations.
