Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak has confirmed he will become the new head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders.

Kubiak made the admission on NFL Network in the aftermath of the Seahawks’ 29-13 Super Bowl win over the New England Patriots on Sunday.

When asked about his future as a head coach, Kubiak initially remained tight lipped and said: ‘That’s up to God. We’re just going to enjoy tonight.’

But he then crumbled, adding: ‘You guys know I’m going to Las Vegas. I’m fired up about it. Hell yeah I’m going.’

It was widely expected that Kubiak would take up the position with Tom Brady’s Raiders after an impressive season leading Mike Macdonald’s offense.

He will take over in Las Vegas after Brady and his fellow Raiders owners fired Pete Carroll earlier this offseason.

The Raiders have the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s NFL draft and are widely expected to take Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza.

Kubiak was interviewed twice by the Raiders in recent weeks but a move could not be formalized until after the Super Bowl.

Brady, who has a minority stake in the Raiders, called the Seahawk’s last two games before the Super Bowl for Fox, allowing the former quarterback a front row seat to observe Kubiak’s offense.

Further reports have suggested that, should he make the move to Las Vegas, there is a strong likelihood that he brings other Seahawks staff with him.

It would mark the second-straight former Seattle coach that the Raiders would make their head coach after hiring Carroll last year.

Carroll, who previously won a Super Bowl in Seattle and two national titles at USC, signed a three-year deal with Las Vegas before the season, but ultimately finished the year with the worst record in the NFL at 3-14.

He was eventually fired on January 5 before the Raiders embarked on their search for a replacement over recent weeks.
