A former BBC Radio DJ has cautioned against a media “feeding frenzy” over the news of Scott Mills being sacked from the corporation.
On Monday (30 March), the 53-year-old presenter was fired from his role following allegations about his personal conduct.
Appearing on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday, former BBC DJ Nihal Arthanayake urged caution against the public condemnation of Mills. “We all know what happened with Caroline Flack,” he said.
Host Kate Garraway agreed, referencing reports claiming friends of Mills have not been able to make contact with him since the news broke.
In a statement, a BBC spokesperson said “while we do not comment on matters relating to individuals, we can confirm Scott Mills is no longer contracted and has left the BBC”.
