The stars of Team Europe and Team USA came together for the official Ryder Cup Welcome Dinner on Tuesday night ahead of the 2025 competition.

Hosted at Hempstead House in Sands Point, New York, the elegant event saw both teams enjoy a formal evening just days before teeing off at Bethpage Black.

Players arrived suited and booted alongside their significant others, with the WAGs of both teams turning heads in glamorous evening gowns as the group posed for photographs.

Rory McIlroy was among the first to arrive, wearing a classic black suit and tie, while his wife Erica Stoll opted for a sleek black dress on the night.

Shortly after, Jon Rahm followed with his wife Kelley Rahm, who wore a bronze gown with crystal detailing.

The pair smiled for photographers as they made their way into the event, part of a united Team Europe contingent under captain Luke Donald.

The European WAGs gathered for a group selfie outside the mansion, sharing a moment of laughter as they captured the evening.

Meanwhile, Jon Rahm, Shane Lowry, Justin Rose, Tyrrell Hatton, Tommy Fleetwood and Viktor Hovland stood together for a formal team photo, suited up and smiling.

The welcome dinner is a long-standing Ryder Cup tradition, offering a chance for both sides to unwind and build camaraderie before the competition begins.

The 2025 Ryder Cup officially begins on Friday, September 26 at Bethpage Black in Long Island – one of the most demanding courses on the PGA Tour.

This year’s event marks the first time the Ryder Cup has returned to the US since Whistling Straits in 2021, where Team USA secured a dominant victory. Team Europe will be looking to defend their 2023 title, won at Marco Simone Golf Club in Rome.

The players will return to practice rounds on Wednesday before final pairings are confirmed for Friday’s foursomes.

However, there are already fears of chaos on Friday morning, with president Donald Trump due to be at Bethpage Black to support Scottie Scheffler and Co.

Police chiefs have also warned of an ‘increased’ risk of someone ‘targeting’ the Ryder Cup to ‘make a statement’ in the wake of Charlie Kirk ‘s assassination.

The conservative political activist, an ally and friend of the president, was shot during an event in Utah earlier this month.

Two weeks on, Trump’s visit to Bethpage has only added another layer of complication to an already vast security operation which is ‘on par’ with a Super Bowl and includes drones and bomb-disposal dogs as well as chemical, biological and radiological units.

The man leading Ryder Cup security admitted they are preparing for the worst. ‘If anything, the likelihood of somebody trying to use an event like this to make a statement is only increased,’ Major Stephen Udice told the BBC .
