Rogue runner strikes again! Tommy Fury is caught PUSHING Great North Run rival away to get his perfect viral finish line video, days after ‘LYING’ about completing 100km triathlon

Tommy Fury has gone viral once more for yet another running sprint finish, and footage appears to show the professional boxer pushing a fellow competitor out of the way.

Fury, 26, has become somewhat notorious for his sprint finishes at running events, being caught on camera charging to the line on several occasions.

In January, a clip of the former Love Island star nearly knocking over an elderly lady while taking part in a charity 10k race at Tatton Park took the internet by storm, and it appears he is back to his old tricks.

While completing the Great North Run event, in which roughly 60,000 participants take on the half-marathon distance (13.1 miles) through the heart of Newcastle, Fury made sure to get his perfect sprint finish video again.

After battling through the grueling race in the north east, Fury managed to conjure up all the energy he had left in order to kick for the finish line.

He whizzed through a sea of bodies as he arced around the final bend, and could be seen pushing two men out of the way so that he could have a clear run to the line.

Despite Fury having a reputation for his shoving antics, after his exploits in Tatton Park earlier this year, fans have been left in shock that he would lay his hands on another runner.

‘Plz tell me this is some kind of joke,’ one wrote.

Meanwhile, another questioned why he would feel the need to get his elbows out: ‘Why’s he pushing people out of his way?’

The video has gone viral just one day after Fury had been accused of lying about his 100km triathlon in the French Riviera in late August, after data emerged seemingly showing he ‘did not finish’.

The brutal triathlon consisted of three stages: a 2km swim, an 80km bike leg, and finally an 18km run to the finish line.

Fury had caused a buzz ahead of the event, and a video of him doing his famous sprint finish across the line at the event has been liked over 250,000 times on Instagram. However, it was reported on Wednesday that there was a discrepancy.

An article by Marathon Investigation declared that Fury did not actually finish the event, pointing to his bike splits, which showed he was not logged beyond the 48km point. These splits were recorded every 6km along the route.

In fact, searching for Fury’s official time on the Sportstats website reveals a large DNF next to his name, making him one of 93 athletes who did not complete the route.

Further investigation from tri247.com found that road closures had been shortened because the bike course for the amateurs had been changed since the event was first announced. The amateur groups were tasked with six laps of around 13km.

It then became apparent on the day that some amateurs, not just Fury, were not going to be able to finish the bike leg before the roads were reopened.

The Professional Triathletes Organisation said: ‘Due to our permit for the road closures in France, unfortunately Tommy and some other athletes in the 100km amateur race were unable to complete the bike course before the cut-off time.

‘However, given our philosophy to grow the sport and encourage new athletes, we wanted to give them as full an experience as possible.

‘So they were all given the opportunity to do the 18km run and cross the finish line.’

Fury and other athletes wanted to continue when the roads were reopened and went on to complete the full 18km run before crossing the finish line.

Not only did people take a jibe at Fury for allegedly not completing the full distance, but they also poked fun at the boxer for his running technique.

Fury did not take to the comments too kindly and fought back on social media, sharing a video of him running at the end and writing: ‘Go ahead and roast my form… but could you sprint finish after a 100KM triathlon?’

He has not, however, taken to Instagram to acknowledge his participation in the Great North Run.
