Robert Jenrick and Trevor Phillips became embroiled in a heated live television clash over new allegations about Nigel Farage.
The Reform UK leader has denied claims reported by The Sunday Times that he failed to declare donations from his close friend and convicted criminal George Cottrell, nicknamed “Posh George”.
Grilled on the accusations by Mr Phillips on Sky News on Sunday (5 July), Mr Jenrick replied that Mr Farage is “allowed to have friends”, insisting that there is “no story here”.
Continuously speaking over one another, the pair butted heads over the claims, which Mr Phillips insisted were “not a good look”.
“You’re wrong,” Reform UK’s Treasury spokesman declared.
