- Ute officially deemed a write-off after collision in October
- Mam was charged with drug driving, driving unlicensed
- Broncos star later issued a nine-game ban by the NRL
The written-off ute of troubled NRL star Ezra Mam is up for auction in Brisbane, as the suspended Broncos five-eighth looks to officially move on from a regretful chapter in his life.
Mam, 22, was issued a nine-game ban – as well as a combined $120,000 fine from the Broncos and NRL – after police charged the pivot with drug driving and driving unlicensed.
It followed an incident where Mam’s car struck another vehicle on October 18 when he was reportedly moving to a new house.
Mam then tested positive for an illegal substance during a subsequent roadside drug test by police.
A mother and her four-year-old daughter were riding in the passenger seats of an Uber when the incident took place, with the youngster understood to have suffered a broken hip.
In a Queensland Magistrates court, Mam was later issued a $850 fine and six-month driving ban, a sentence viewed by many footy fans as extremely lenient.

Following the incident, Mam checked himself into rehab and also spent time working on a Brisbane building site before returning to Broncos training in January.
‘Ezra is continually working on himself now,’ head coach Michael Maguire told News Corp.
‘People face adversity every day. It tests their character and people have to deal with the situations they have been through.
‘He has been working extremely hard at training. ‘Right now, he will just train with us, that’s all he has to focus on.’
Brisbane begin their 2025 NRL campaign on the road when they tackle the Roosters at Allianz Stadium on March 6.
New recruit Ben Hunt is tipped to partner Adam Reynolds in the halves with Mam sidelined.
