Crystal Palace and Burnley’s Premier League kick-off was pushed back less than an hour before kick-off after the Clarets were caught in traffic heading to Selhurst Park.

The match was initially due to kick-off at 7.30pm, with the fixture broadcast on TNT Sports.

A decision was taken to push back the kick-off by 10 minutes owing to the late arrival of the Burnley team coach.

‘Kick-off for this evening’s Premier League match between Crystal Palace and Burnley will be delayed by 10 minutes to 7:40pm, due to heavy traffic delaying the arrival of the Burnley team coach,’ a Premier League statement read.

According to the Burnley Express, the Clarets had flown down to London earlier on Wednesday.

The report claimed that Burnley were stuck in traffic for over an hour in London as they made their way to the stadium.

Parker’s side reportedly only began their warm-up at 6.50pm.

Burnley began the night 11 points from safety in the Premier League, with the club looking likely to face an immediate return to the Championship.

Crystal Palace, meanwhile, are seeking to pull further clear of the relegation fight.

Oliver Glasner’s side headed into the match eight points clear of 18th placed West Ham.

The Eagles are looking build on their 1-0 victory over Brighton on the weekend, which snapped a lengthy nine match winless run in the Premier League.
