The Grand National Festival got underway on Thursday and many of those in attendance were left scratching their eyes after seeing the price of alcohol at Aintree.
It was an action-packed first day with Constitution Hill falling for the second time in succession as Lossiemouth landed the William Hill Aintree Hurdle.
Over 20,000 people made their way to the racecourse, which is situated on the outskirts of Liverpool.
It was a glorious Ladies Day in terms of weather and naturally most were keen to get their hands on a drink following their arrival.
However, they may have decided to limit their intake after seeing the prices of alcohol at the event.
A glass of Prosecco will set you back £12 while it’s £46 to purchase a bottle which would usually cost £9-15 online.

The average price of a glass in the UK is in the region of £6 while it’s closer to £7.50 in Liverpool.
The cost of beers were equally eye-watering with a pint of Madri priced at £7.80 – the same as other lager selections, ales, and cider.
Guinness is also available for £7.30 while a 175ml glass of wine will set you back £9.50.
Spirits have been set at £6.75 per 25ml, and other soft drinks and mixers can be purchased.
