The reason why Alejandro Garnacho headed straight down the Old Trafford tunnel after being substituted against Ipswich Town has been revealed.
The Manchester United winger was taken off and replaced by Noussair Mazraoui following his team-mate Patrick Dorgu’s red card after a reckless challenge on Omari Hutchinson.
With 2-1 on the scoresheet and 10 men on the pitch, Ruben Amorim was forced to sacrifice his side’s attacking abilities with the addition of another defender.
However, the hopes of not conceding a second goal fell short after Jaden Philogene-Bidace scored the equaliser just two minutes after Garnacho left the pitch.
Luckily for United, Harry Maguire managed to give the lead for his team with a stunning header following Bruno Fernandes’ assist from a corner kick.
However, the 3-2 thriller at Old Trafford was also well-remembered by Garnacho’s behaviour, who stormed down the stadium tunnel towards United’s dressing room.

Supporters at Old Trafford booed Amorim’s decision to replace Garnacho, who had a stunning performance in the first half on the left flank.
The 20-year-old played a huge part in United’s fast counter-attacks following Ipswich’s opening goal in the fourth minute after Dorgu’s mix-up with goalkeeper Andre Onana.
After the game, Amorim revealed why to opted to option to remain in a formation with five defenders, reducing United’s attacking capabilities.
He said: ‘The thinking was we were playing more in the 5-3-1 and I know that is a risk.’
‘I felt the team was OK in controlling of the game and then you make the substitution and you have to choose someone to come out. It was my choice.’
Shortly after the final whistle, Garnacho took to Instagram to publish a picture of him walking down the touchline without a caption.
‘You are making a connection with [Marcus] Rashford, right? I know, I know,’ Amorim said in response to a suggestion about Garnacho’s attitude.

‘What I’m saying is I’m going to talk obviously with Garnacho about that [going down the tunnel]. So I will talk about that if you want in the next press conference.’
Previously, the Argentine was axed from the United squad against Manchester City after news emerged that the winger fell out of favour under manager Ruben Amorim.
But under the current circumstances – when Rashford is on loan at Aston Villa and Amad Diallo is out for the rest of the season – Garnacho remains the only winger in the Red Devils’ squad.
In a story exclusively revealed by Mail Sport, it was revealed that the 20-year-old appeared to turn his back on Amorim while the Portuguese boss was giving him instructions before he came out against Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League.
