Revealed: The financial sacrifices Jack Grealish has made to push through loan move to Everton from Man City… with England star going ‘above and beyond’

Jack Grealish has agreed to a number of financial sacrifices to push through a loan move from Manchester City to Everton.

The England international, who earns around £300,000 a week plus sponsorships at City, has, according to Everton sources, gone ‘above and beyond’ to make the deal happen while there is an option to make the move permanent next summer for £50million.

Decked out in a black velour tracksuit, Grealish underwent his Everton medical on Monday, ahead of signing on Tuesday, eager to put himself in contention to face Leeds United in the club’s Premier League season opener next week.

After spending the majority of last season on the periphery of Pep Guardiola’s first team, making only seven league starts, the 29-year-old has been convinced by manager David Moyes that Everton can provide him with the platform to rekindle his form of old and stake a claim for Thomas Tuchel’s England World Cup squad.

The move across the North West also means Grealish does not have to uproot his young family.

The £100m signing from Aston Villa, who has had several offers to leave City this summer, was left ‘heartbroken’ when he missed out on the England squad for the 2024 European Championship after losing his regular place under Guardiola.

City are now contemplating a move for Real Madrid’s £80million-rated Brazilian forward Rodrygo to freshen up their attacking options.

Aside from Grealish’s departure, they spent Monday negotiating with Nottingham Forest over the proposed sale of James McAtee while Tottenham are expected to return with an improved offer for City winger Savinho, after having an opening £43m proposal rejected.

City, having rejected Forest’s opening proposal of £25m for England U21 international McAtee last week, were pushing for £30m in talks on Monday but Forest’s offer was around £27m including add-ons as negotiations continued.

McAtee. who won the European U21 Championship with England in June, made 15 Premier League appearances last season, scoring three times, but is not part of Guardiola’s plans.

Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt have also made pitches to the 22-year-old McAtee in recent weeks.

Preliminary talks have been held between Tottenham and City over the 21-year-old Savinho, who joined City from Girona last summer. It is expected to take around £60m for City to consider selling the Brazilian.

Spurs are looking for attacking reinforcements after missing out on Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White, selling Heung-Min Son and losing James Maddison to a long-term knee injury.
