Revealed: Emma Raducanu’s rags to riches! Tennis star now worth £13.5m thanks to prize money and big-ticket sponsorship deals – after having just £44 in her account five years ago

Emma Raducanu is reportedly worth a whopping £13.5million at the age of just 22.

She shot on to the scene almost four years ago after an incredible run which saw her win the US Open at Flashing Meadows, quickly becoming the poster-girl of women’s tennis in the UK.

But the tournament victory in New York remains Raducanu’s only WTA title four years on, with the Brit now the 39th-ranked player in world women’s tennis.

Despite her lack of tournament winnings, the Toronto-born star, who grew up in south-east London, is raking it in off the court.

Indeed, the right-hander’s commercial exploits, which are channeled by her company Harbour 6, saw her bank £100,000-a-week last year, according to accounts seen by The Sun.

The company has assets of an incredible £13.5m, including £13.4m in cash, and is due to pay bills of £1.5million.

Raducanu is also making money from her various commercial sponsorship with deals with world-renowned brands Nike, Porsche, Evian, Dior, Tiffany’s, Vodafone and British Airways.

Just five years ago when Raducanu started her business, it held just £44 during its first trading year.

Commenting on the revelation regarding the tennis star’s wealth, expert Nigel Currie told the publication: ‘Emma and her management team are clearly very smart.

‘They have capitalised on her amazing US Open victory in 2021 when she was just 18. Sponsors are always looking for high-profile female athletes.

‘Looks and physique are also important, while outgoing personalities do well with media engagements and sponsorship contract.

‘She has all those qualities in abundance. That said, she has so far failed to rediscover the form that took her to her Grand Slam triumph.’

Raducanu returned to Flushing Meadows this week along with Spanish star Carlos Alcaraz, with the pair competing together in the mixed doubles.

Their surprise partnership had been the talk of tennis circles in New York, but they ultimately struggled to flourish on the court together.

Raducanu and Alcaraz were knocked out early on in the competition by No 1 seeds Jack Draper and his doubles partner Jessica Pegula in a straight two sets.

Raducanu begins her pursuit for a second US Open title later this week – but has been handed a particularly tough draw.

If she manages to beat Elena Rybakina and Jasmine Paolini, both of whom are in the Top 10 players in the world, the 22-year-old could be on course for a third meeting in as many months with Aryna Sabalenka.

Some small comfort to Raducanu – who has enjoyed a promising hard-court swing ahead of the tournament – might be a chance to improve upon her personal record at the tournament where she made her name.

She has failed to get past the first round since her miraculous win in 2021, but could have a strong opportunity to do so when she opens her campaign against a qualifier.
