Funding of up to £25k for innovative feasibility studies in novel, sustainable, low-carbon materials and manufacturing, including seaweed processing.

The competition opens on Monday 22 September 2025 and closes at 11am on Monday 3 November 2025.

Who it is for

This competition is open to single applicants only.

Your organisation must be a UK business of any size.

Your project must

  • have total costs between £10,000 and £25,000
  • have a grant funding request that matches your total project costs
  • last between 1 and 2 months
  • start on 1 February 2026
  • end by 31 March 2026
  • intend to exploit the project results from or in the UK.

Support you can get

This competition aims to help UK materials and manufacturing organisations achieve net zero and resource efficiency. Proposals are sought that demonstrate how these sectors can become more resilient, sustainable, or technologically advanced. Innovation in seaweed processing is also encouraged.

 

Projects will be 100% funded (subject to Minimal Financial Assistance rules).
