This is the moment a Republican’s attempt to get the crowd on side at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) backfired.
Speaking to the crowd at the event in Grapevine, Texas on Thursday (26 March), Matt Schlapp asked the crowd how many of them would be keen to see impeachment hearings against President Trump.
Schlapp, who is the Chair of the American Conservative Union (ACU) which hosts the CPAC, looked unimpressed as the crowd cheered. “No, that was the wrong answer,” he said.
“Let’s try it again,” he said before repeating the question, this time gaining a much less enthusiastic response from the crowd.
