A Boston Red Sox fan sitting about 10 rows up from the field down the first-base line made an incredible catch on a foul ball – sandwiching the liner in his funnel cake, with his hand on the other side.
The unidentified Red Sox fan has little time to react as a fastball thrown from Boston’s Walker Buehler has great location, a strike on the side of the plate away from Toronto Blue Jays star Bo Bichette.
Bichette barely makes contact with the ball traveling over 90 miles per hour and sticks his bat out, just enough to make contact with it and deflects it into the crowd.
As the fan comes into focus, he is not even watching the game, looking down at his funnel cake.
He realizes a split second later, as the ball comes in the direction of his gray Red Sox sweatshirt to instinctively hold up his funnel cake, filled with powdered sugar, to catch the ball.
A second after it touched Bichette’s bat, it was caught in the fried-dough glove, with tons of fans admiring the unique play.
