The Civil Nuclear Constabulary’s (CNC) Relocate to Dounreay campaign has been shortlisted for a national award.

Created in partnership with branding specialists Penna, the recruitment campaign has been named a finalist in the Creative Idea category at the RAD Awards, alongside entries from Nando’s, Asda, Ford, and Aegon.

Celebrating excellence in employer branding and marketing, the RAD Awards recognise innovation, authenticity, and impact. Winners will be announced at an awards evening hosted in London in January.

At the heart of the campaign was a simple but powerful idea highlight the lifestyle that comes with being a CNC officer at Dounreay. Aimed at people who thrive in the outdoors, the campaign brought to life the unique environment of Caithness, from its mountains and beaches to the Northern Lights, running and cycling routes.

To ensure authenticity, Dounreay officers became recruitment brand ambassadors for the campaign, sharing a glimpse into their lives beyond the uniform. Officers were photographed taking part in their favourite pastimes, offering a genuine insight into what it means to live and work in Caithness.

Dani Whiting, Senior Manager for Talent Acquisition, said “Being shortlisted for an industry-leading award alongside international brands is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the commitment and dedication  of the recruitment team in delivering an innovative and high-quality campaign to support the Dounreay OPU recruitment strategy.

“This recognition reflects the collaboration, passion, and authenticity that went into delivering a campaign that truly represents life at Dounreay. I’d like to extend my thanks to the officers who took part, and to Emma Lindsay for her dedication and support throughout the project.”
