With dried floral arrangements, a gorgeous summer palette of burnt orange and terracotta colour pops, and a local, seasonal feast for their guests, this is one heck of a stylish celebration!
We selected The Ferry House as our wedding venue for its breathtaking grounds, featuring a stunning barn, picturesque views, beautiful surroundings, and exquisite decor – an absolute visual delight. The warm, familial atmosphere captured our hearts, with every staff member going above and beyond to make us feel like cherished family members during each visit. The rustic ambience with boho vibes exceeded our expectations, providing the perfect backdrop for our special day.
Our wedding fashion echoed our love for rustic, bohemian vibes, inspired by autumn’s palette of burnt orange, terracotta, greens, and champagne hues. My wedding dress, adorned with stunning lace details and standout sleeves, uniquely reflected my personality. The dried bridal bouquet, a harmonious mix of fresh foliage and dried pops of colour with terracotta silks, perfectly complemented the theme. I also wore a spectacular floral crown featuring wax flowers, hare’s tails, and pops of blooms tied together with a nude silk ribbon. My bridesmaids dazzled in burnt orange dresses with fringed hems and floral jacquard patterns, carrying smaller versions of my dried bouquet. The flower girls looked adorable in bohemian serendipity dresses in apricot, completed with wicker baskets and flower crowns.
James rocked the Jenson Marine suit from Marc Darcy, showcasing a beautiful blue check with subtle orange accents, a burnt orange tie, and a dried flower buttonhole. His groomsmen matched with identical trousers, braces, and burnt orange ties. Our big-day fashion embraced a free-spirited, hippie-inspired whimsy through textures, earthy elements, dreamy lace, abundant wildflowers, and dried floral arrangements.
The gazebo, our ceremony focal point, featured an enchanting asymmetric design with foliage and pampas. Wooden slices along the aisle held jars with foliage, while tall gold stands showcased pampas, dried elements, and foliage toppers, creating a picturesque pathway. Chairs were elegantly styled with grey vertical drop sashes and tied back with foliage bundles. DIY touches included personally crafted wedding signage, a confetti wall, and bespoke confetti cones made from pages of Shakespearean poetry.
Our talented florist, Sophie from Idyllic & Co., embraced dried floral arrangements with a palette featuring burnt orange and terracotta accents. In the event suite, wooden trestle tables were transformed with burnt orange/terracotta runners, complemented by pampas and foliage. Sophie’s artistry extended to pickling jars, ceiling garlands, and a central ceiling hoop. Her meticulous floral creations, from bouquets to stunning floral crowns and buttonholes, seamlessly blended with our rustic boho theme, infusing natural elegance and whimsical charm.
The wedding cake, a stunning three-tier creation by Esther at Daisycrumbsncreamcakes, featured a 10-inch vanilla sponge with raspberry jam, an 8-inch cookies and cream layer, and a 6-inch lemon sponge. Decorated with edible pressed flowers, it was an outstanding centrepiece that perfectly complemented our theme.
Captivated by The Ferry House’s ethos of “Plot to Plate – Field to Fork – Grain to Glass”, our catering experience lived up to this philosophy, providing a first-class culinary journey. Each dish was not only delicious but meticulously presented.
Chris Blackledge Photography, a recommended supplier from The Ferry House, beautifully documented our wedding. Chris’s keen eye and artistic approach ensured that every moment was captured with finesse, creating sensational photos that perfectly encapsulated the essence of our special day. Beyond his impressive portfolio, Chris’s lovely personality and easygoing nature made him a joy to work with. Despite initial apprehensions, the photo session was a fantastic time, filled with laughter and genuine moments, beautifully preserved in our sensational photos.
